~*~ Week 17 ~*~

Week 17 is here and I find myself sitting still and just waiting to feel that first movement from the baby. Since I know it can happen anytime I can't help but get all giddy about it. The nausea is still improving but I have my good days and my bad days but that is just par for the course. Eric and I have been working on emptying the office aka baby room to prepare it for painting once we know the sex of the baby. It's so exciting seeing the room clearing out. . .I can't help but visualize how it will all look once it's all done up and ready for baby!!!! Here is what's going on this week. . .

One of my sites states that this week the baby is the size of a turnip. About 5 inches crown to rump and weighing a grand total of 5 oz.

One another site it says that the baby is the size of an onion.

Here is a look at what's going on the inside. The umbilical cord is getting thicker to provide nutrients to the baby. The baby's bones are turning from rubbery cartilage into hardened bone and the baby can move it's joints. As for the baby's hearing that is continuing development as well.

Furniture Ideas

So after picking out the room colors I started searching online to see what I liked for baby furniture and I fell in love! For a girl I would want to get the set in white. I found this on babies r' us, the set is called Storkcraft Aspen. The bed is convertible to grow with the baby :o)
Here is the crib. . .

This is the dresser / changer. . .

The 5 drawer dresser. . .

And for a boy I love the natural wood color. . .

<3 Nursery Colors <3

So while looking around Home Depot I found baby room colors! I have also decided I want to do a chair rail so that we can do 2 colors on the wall. . .I feel like it will add so much to the room. First the boys room for the top color I have chosen Tinker Bell and the bottom color is Atta Boy Blue. (very similar to our wedding colors. . .I love it!)
For the girls room the top color is Blushing Piglet and the bottom color is Haycorn Brown.
I love both so much I know it will look great either way. I'm also looking at furniture so keep an eye out for future posts :o)

~*~ Week 16 ~*~

So today I had my 16 week appointment at the doctor. Since the beginning of my pregnancy I have now gained a total of 14 pounds, although I know that's a good thing still a hard thing to hear. The baby's heart beat sounds good so basically everything is progressing perfectly! Also I was able to set my next sonogram appointment, February 15 and if the baby works with us we will be able to find out if little Bella or little Logan will be here on July 4th :o) I'm beyond excited. My parents are going to make the trip to Connecticut to come to my appointment, my mother is beyond excited! So this week the baby is the size of an avocado. . .

Here is the internal shot of what everything looks like. . . The baby's scalp pattern is developing, toenails are growing and the circulatory system is working!

~*~Week 15~*~

As of Monday I was 15 weeks. . . 2nd Trimester here I am! But still experiencing all of those nagging symptoms :o( Hopefully they will subside sometime soon. I'm at the point now where I have to pee like every 5 seconds. . .so much fun! But there are sweet moments that just make me smile, like my husband randomly coming over to me lifting my shirt to see my belly and just staring in amazement...like "WOW. . . there it is". I cant wait to see his reaction when the baby starts to kick! Well the baby is getting bigger and bigger now, depending on what site you go to the baby is between the size of a naval orange and an apple as you can see in my pictures below. . .

Here is a shot of whats going on underneath it all. The baby's legs are now getting longer than the arms so it is more proportionate. The eyelids are still fused shut but they are able to sense light so if you shine a flash light into the stomach the baby will move away from the light.

And here I am at week 15. . .you can def see that protruding bump :o)

~Week 14~

Welcome to week 14. . . Now in the 2nd trimester still feeling pretty much the same. I still have that nagging nausea and now to add to the fun list of symptoms back pain. But just knowing that a beautiful baby is the light at the end of this tunnel makes things so much easier to bare. This past weekend I had the honor of being a bridesmaid for one of my very good friends, someone I know that I will be friends with forever. To make it more special we are both pregnant!

Well here I am 14 weeks pregnant :o)

At 14 weeks the baby is about the size of a lemon

Here is a more detailed view of how things are looking from the inside out.
